Inertial sensor-based motion capture NITOM
High degree of freedom inertial motion capture system
The inertial motion capture method, which uses inertial sensors equipped with three sensors: accelerometer, gyroscope, and geomagnetic sensor, attached to various parts of the body to obtain position and posture information based on the measured data, has the disadvantage of lower accuracy and drift over time compared to optical motion capture methods that directly measure marker positions with multiple cameras. However, it allows for motion capture in free space without being constrained by the camera's field of view, unlike optical methods.
